More Magic Tree House Mania! (pictures for fellow teachers)

You are entering the Magic Tree House!  I used paint I found in the storage closet and oil pastel crayons to create my tree.

I just had to add a tire swing!

The leaves are paper die-cuts in various shades of green.

Found these great balloons at Hobby Lobby

Our theater area (used to be the coat closet)

  3. Hi, Vonda

I just wanted to jot you a note. I have been thinking of you often - especially now as I remember entering that very same room oh so long ago as a very scared 1st grader. I was so scared because it was so different than Kindergarten. No Mrs. Folmer, no Astro's bag, no puppets, no sandbox, no kitchen play area - nothing fun - just bookcases as tall as skyscrapers full of books. "Would we have to read each and every one" I thought. Mrs. Mettler must have sensed how scared I was as she took me in and I loved 1st grade and have many, many wonderful memories of that room. I even have a small plastic tote full of my papers which I get out every now and again to remember "the good olde days".

Fast forward many, many years and I am now sending my own little man, Rylan, off to 1st grade. He has heading out the door, down the street, and around the corner to the brick building of learning for a week and absolutely loves it. I hope he will have as many wonderful memories of 1st grade as I do.

May God richly bless you, Vonda, as you are touching and molding these little precious ones and their minds for a life long adventure of learning.

    Blessings to you
    ~~Karey
